Reach
The REACH Regulation (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals) entered into force on June 1, 2007. This new regulation replaces around 40 other existing European Regulations and Directives to provide a single regulation system for chemical compounds.
The European Union (EU) chemicals policy, REACH, aims to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the improvement and early identification of the intrinsic properties of chemicals. In addition, it enables the innovative capacity and competitiveness of the EU chemical industry to be improved.
REACH obliges manufacturers or importers to register with the European Agency for Chemical Substances and Preparations (ECHA) the substances as such, in the form of a preparation or contained in articles and that are placed on the European Union Market within a threshold limit of one ton per year. Distributors and downstream users will also be subject to REACH, as long as they use substances in the exercise of their professional or industrial activity.
Global Metwire Injection, following its usual policy of maximum responsibility in legislative matters, informs you of the measures it has taken since 2011 regarding the REACH regulation, which aims to guarantee a high level of protection of human health and the environment, as well as the free circulation of substances.
Global Metwire Injection acts as a downstream user and as an importer, depending on the material.
As downstream users, you have been and are in contact with your suppliers to ensure that they have taken the appropriate measures regarding their obligations regarding REACH of the raw materials contained in the products they supply you. These suppliers have confirmed to us, through registration, the compliance with REACH for all the relevant substances they use. Likewise, it has provided information to suppliers on the use made of their raw materials to guarantee that these are included as identified uses in the registration of substances.
As an importer, Global Metwire Injection has a REACH registration for some substances.
